Bergamot Mint
Mentha x piperita f. citrata

Bergamot mint (Mentha x piperita f. citrata), commonly called eau de cologne mint, is distinguished from peppermint by an essential oil composed almost entirely of linalool and linalyl acetate rather than menthol, giving it a soft, floral-citrus character. Leaves of this mint contain unusually high concentrations of polymethoxylated flavones with documented antiallergic activity, two of which achieved IC50 values of 2.4 and 3.0 μM against IgE-mediated degranulation—among the highest antiallergic potencies reported for any flavonoid.[1]
