Clary Sage
Salvia sclarea

Clary sage essential oil from Salvia sclarea is defined by linalyl acetate (up to 75%) and linalool, which together account for its smooth, herbaceous-floral character. The oil and its key compounds exert spasmolytic effects on uterine smooth muscle by inhibiting Ca²⁺-mediated contraction pathways, supporting its clinical use for dysmenorrhoea relief.[1] Inhalation studies in humans have demonstrated mood-lifting and antidepressant-like effects compared to placebo.[2]
