Magnolia
Michelia alba

Essential oils from Magnolia species (M. grandiflora, M. liliflora) are dominated by beta-caryophyllene, linalool, and eucalyptol, with GC-MS profiling of M. grandiflora flowers confirming strong antioxidant and cytotoxic activity.[1] The oil of M. liliflora has demonstrated direct in vitro inhibition of food spoilage and foodborne pathogenic bacteria, supporting its antimicrobial reputation.[2]
