Wild Chamomile
Ormenis mixta

Ormenis mixta (Moroccan wild chamomile) is an Asteraceae species endemic to western and central Morocco whose aerial parts yield an essential oil characterised by D-germacrene, 1,8-cineole, and cis-methyl isoeugenol as principal components. Phytochemical investigation of the plant has identified novel guaianolide sesquiterpene lactones that inhibit nitric oxide release and suppress cyclooxygenase-2 expression in LPS-stimulated macrophages, documenting a mechanistic anti-inflammatory profile.[1]
